Amarillo – Man Killed in US 287 Identified

The Amarillo Police Department has released the name of the man who died in a fatal vehicle accident on US Highway 287, Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as 63-year-old Eldridge Miller. According to initial reports, Miller was operating a sport utility vehicle along the northbound lanes of the US Highway 287 when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, he collided with a 1984 Peterbilt truck that was heading east. The impact of the crash seriously injured Miller. He was immediately taken to Quanah Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Meanwhile, his passenger, identified as Loretta Miller, also suffered from fatal injuries and rushed to a medical facility. Her condition was not immediately disclosed.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to determine the cause of the collision.
