The Austin Police Department is investigating an auto versus pedestrian accident on Cameron Road which resulted in the death of a 58-year-old man last week.

Just before 10:00 p.m., Austin local officials received a notification about a vehicle accident in the 7200 block of Cameron Road, just north of US 290. Initial investigation indicates that a 2012 white Ford F-150 was traveling along the northbound lane when it crashed into a man in the middle of the roadway. Police said the pedestrian was in the middle of the inside northbound lane, attempting to cross the roadway, when he was hit by the truck. The impact of the crash instantly killed the pedestrian.

Authorities did not release information about the driver of the pickup truck.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
