Bellaire – Metro Bus Struck Two People on Bellaire Boulevard

A major accident involving a Metro Bellaire Transit Center bus took place on Bellaire Boulevard, Thursday evening.

Police said that the Metro bus was traveling along Bellaire when, for yet unknown reasons, it went out of control, crashed into a column and struck two pedestrians. Based on a preliminary investigation, the victims were either walking along the roadway or waiting at the bus stop. The impact injured both pedestrians. They were transported to local hospitals where they were listed in unknown condition. Their identification and the extent of their injuries were not immediately disclosed.

Fortunately, no one else was injured.

The road has been temporarily closed for clearing.

Area investigators were also requested at the scene to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. No charges have been filed at this time.
