Conroe – Man Killed after Getting Hit by Tractor on Texas 242

A 55-year-old man died after a fatal pedestrian collision on Texas 242 near New Caney, according to a local news source.

At around 6:00 a.m., a man was walking along the eastbound lane of TX 242 near Lone Star Ranch when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, he walked out into the roadway where he was struck by a passing tractor trailer. The impact of the crash killed the pedestrian who was only identified as a 55-year-old resident of Celeste, Texas.

Police have yet to determine why the man walked towards the roadway from initially walking on the shoulder.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with local investigators. No charges are expected to be filed against him.
