Dallas – Officer Struck by Car on Robert B. Cullum Boulevard

A police officer was hospitalized after getting hit by a vehicle on Robert B. Cullum Boulevard in South Dallas, Saturday evening.

Just after 10:00 p.m., a police officer was directing traffic at Robert Cullum near Pennsylvania Avanue when a vehicle struck him. Based on an initial investigation, the vehicle, which remains to be undescribed, went around a barricade at the said cross street and crashed into the officer. The impact of the collision left the officer with non-life threatening injuries. He was immediately taken to Baylor Hospital for proper medical treatment.

No one else was injured.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt. He is now under investigation for driving while intoxicated.

Further details will be released. The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
