Denton – Bicyclist Dead in Fatal Car Accident on North Loop 288

A bicycle collision on North Loop 288 resulted in the death of a man in Denton, Friday evening.

At around 8:45 p.m., Denton police officials were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Loop 288 near Audra Lane in response to a call reporting an accident. According to the report, a bicycle was crossing the roadway when it was struck by a 2014 Hyundai hatchback. The rider, who was identified as 62-year-old Gentry Watson, was declared deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Responding officers did not release information about the driver of the Hyundai.

The Denton Police Department is investigating the accident.
