Ector County – Odessa Rider Killed in Motorcycle vs Auto Collision on N Tripp Ave

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a vehicle on North Tripp Avenue, Thursday afternoon.

Just before 5:00 p.m., authorities received a report of a collision between a Nissan Murano and a motorcycle on N Tripp Avenue near Swan Road. According to the report, the Nissan Murano was heading north on Tripp when it crashed into a southbound motorcycle as it attempted to make a turn towards Swan Road. The force of the impact killed the rider of the motorcycle who was only identified as a 54-year-old Odessa man. Meanwhile, a passenger in the Murano was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries that were considered non-life threatening.

No identifications have been released at this time.

The Texas Department of Safety is conducting an investigation about the crash.
