A woman died after a fatal fiery vehicle accident on Interstate 20, early Monday.

At around 4:00 a.m., Fort Worth police were dispatched to southeast Loop 280 at Campus Drive. When they arrived at the scene, they found a blue vehicle engulfed in flames. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this time but it was confirmed by responding officers that the blue car was stalled in the traffic lane where it was struck by another car. The driver, who was still inside the wreckage, sustained fatal injuries from the force of the impact. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the second car also sustained injuries. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Authorities withheld the identification of the victims pending notification of their next of kin.
