Garland – Hit-and-Run Collision on Jupiter Road

The woman who died in a fatal car accident on Jupiter Road has been identified, according to a local news source.

The fatality was identified as Joyce Cawis, 46.

According to the initial investigation, a Ram Big Horn pickup truck had been traveling along Jupiter Road, near Forest Lane, at an unsafe speed when it crashed into a Toyota 4Runner at the cross street. Following the crash, the driver of the pickup truck exit the vehicle and fled the scene with a black passenger car that arrived shortly after. The driver of the 4Runner, Joyce Cawis, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

No one else was injured.

The Garland Police Department is still working to determine the location of the hit-and-run driver.
