The Garland Police Department is still in pursuit of the driver who fled the scene following a deadly car accident on Jupiter Road, Thursday evening.

According to initial reports, local officers responded to the intersection of Jupiter Road and Forest Lane at around 11:45 p.m. to assist in a car accident. Police said a Ram Big Hirn pickup truck had been traveling along the roadway, at an unsafe speed, when it crashed into a Toyota 4Runner. The impact of the crash instantly killed the occupant in the Toyota. She was only identified as 46-year-old Rowlett woman.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. He has yet to be identified by investigators.

No one else was injured, as per reports.

This is a developing story.
