Kaufman County – Multi-Car Crash on US Highway 175 Kills 1

A major car accident involving five vehicles happened on US Highway 175 in Kaufman County, last Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the eastbound lanes of US 175 near State Highway 34. Based on a preliminary investigation, a black pickup truck, a maroon SUV, a red car, and a white pickup truck that was hauling a trailer were involved in the crash. When local authorities arrived at the scene, all the vehicles–which have various damages–were found along the highway. Details leading up to the collision remain unclear at this time.

One person was confirmed dead by emergency crews. His identification has not been released pending notification of his next of kin. No words on the conditions of the other victims.

The highway was temporarily shut down as Kaufman local officials investigate the crash.
