The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of the victim who died in a fatal auto crash on Farm to Market 308 Road in rural Hill County last Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as Justin Lemmer, 29, of Malone.

According to the initial investigation, Lemmer was driving a GMC pickup truck along the northbound lane of FM 308 near County Road 3214 when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway. When he tried to overcorrect the truck and go back to the road, it went off the road and rolled over. The impact of the crash threw Lemmer off the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police have yet to confirm if Lemmer was wearing a seat belt during the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
