Mission – 55-year-old Mission Man Killed in Auto Crash on FM 676

The man who died in a fatal car accident on Farm to Market Road 676 has been identified by The Department of Public Safety, Thursday afternoon.

DPS officials named the victim as Octavio Guerrero, 55, of Mission. According to the initial investigation, the incident took place on FM 676, west of Bentsen Palm Drive just before 1:00 p.m. An undescribed vehicle was traveling along the westbound lane when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it went out of control and drifted onto the north side bar ditch. The driver, Octavio Guerrero, sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The Mission Police Department arrived at the scene to determine the cause of the incident. An investigation is underway.
