Odessa – ATV accident on Quartz Street Leaves 1 Dead

At least one person was pronounced deceased following a fatal accident involving an all-terrain vehicle, early morning Monday.

Just after 12:00 a.m., Ector County local officials responded to the area of Quartz and Line Street, just about 15 miles south of Odessa. According to the initial report, a Pontiac Aztek was attempting to make a turn towards Lime when it crashed into an ATV. The driver of the ATV was fatally hurt from the impact. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

The driver of the Pontiac, identified as Stephen Moore, was not hurt.

The Odessa Police Department arrived at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have yet to identify which vehicle had the right of way at the time of the accident.

An investigation is underway.
