Many were injured after a major accident on US Highway 90, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Initial investigation indicates that an accident involving an 18-wheeler truck took place at around 5:00 p.m. at the 1200 block of US Highway 90. The 18-wheeler truck was heading east on the highway when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it drifted into the opposing lanes causing a collision at the intersection near Farm to Market Road 481. Police believe that one of the vehicles attempted to avoid colliding with the truck but ended up crashing into another car. Both vehicles ended up at the covered parking area of a Mexican restaurant on Main Street.
Three people were reportedly hurt from the force of the impact. They were all taken to the hospital where they received proper medical treatment. Investigators said the restaurant was also damaged as a result.
